Why don't you use templates to create web sites?
Using templates is either a quick money strategy for the designer or a way for less creative designers to develop your site. There are no two businesses the same, so by the time you start adjusting and changing a template, to meet your specific requirements, it's more labor intensive than starting from scratch. Using a template is like forcing a square peg into a round hole and defeats the purpose of creating the most effective solutions for your investment.
Do you have to host web sites you design, or can they be hosted anywhere?
There is no obligation to have us host the site we develop or re-develop for you. There are a number of advantages when we host it like: only one company to deal with and to accept responsibility for it working properly, personalized support, or great value. But you may host your site anywhere you choose.
Are CD-ROM's or DVD's a good choice?
CD's and DVD's still have their place, but increasingly our opinion is that their place is shrinking. As broadband becomes ubiquitous, it's getting easier to get rich media to more and more people across the Internet, with the convenience of the browser they are used to. It allows you to invest in content and message rather than plastic disks and postage, so your ROI is likely to be much better.
Are you able to get lower rates on advertising?
Absolutely! When you work with us rather than go directly to the media we have a number of strategies that can reduce your advertising costs without reducing your advertising impact.
Is there such thing as over-branding?
Maybe. For very large companies with lots of products in different markets, multiple brands and different positioning can make sense. For smaller companies, too many brands can confuse your target audience, dilute your message, and cannibalize sales. Like everything, there is a balance that needs to be achieved and that is usually determined with good competitive analysis and a proper marketing strategy.
How do you approach ongoing web site maintenance and updates?
Our general policy is to enable and empower you to maintain and update the web site we create for you without need of our services or additional fees paid to us. We do that mostly by constructing the site so that it can be maintained through a web editor we install with the site. Some special features may need our assistance and large functional changes or new areas may require our involvement again, but most of our clients handle the day-to-day upkeep themselves. If you do want us to handle everything and keep you “hands-off”, that can be arranged too.
What is the difference between your printing and a local printer or Internet print companies?
We have very high standards for the printing we offer and have very carefully selected the printers that work with us to assure you quality and good service. There are so many factors that go into printing to provide a thorough answer, but the skill and training of the staff, the equipment, the materials, the processes and methodologies, and more, all determine what the end product turns out like. Not to mention the skill and knowledge of printing the designer puts into the original files. Typically local printers and Internet print companies don't make the needed investment or have the business model to match our offerings at the same quality and value. Be warned: they often try to throw in low level design services to lure you in.
Isn't marketing just for big businesses? Why do we need it?
Marketing is everywhere no matter if you realize it or not. The local pizzeria that says “family owned and operated since...” is marketing the wholesomeness and tradition of their business. The freight company that guarantees you 3 days coast to coast is marketing. All businesses need marketing. It comes down to skillfully matching the level and methods to market a business to its needs, objectives, and budget.
